French Mortgage Checklist
You will need to provide the mortgage lender the following details about the property and yourself:
About the Property (provided by Developer)
- A signed and completed copy of the preliminary contract (contract de reservation)
- For new buildings, you must provide the building contract, professional estimates and planning permission or "permis de construire"
- For re-mortgages on a French property, you ll need to provide a copy of the existing repayment schedule
- Attestation de valeur locative permanente. - Document from developer and management company stating that the property will be let under the French Civil Code)
About Yourself
- Proof of your main address: it should include copies of two different utility bills, less than three months old
- Clear photocopy of your passport and drivers licence
- Your three most recent and consecutive months bank statements for your main account
- Your two most recent tax assessments
- Copy of RIB (Relevé d Identité Bancaire) from your French bank account. (in case you dont have one it ll be opened for you at later date)
- Copies of loan agreements relating to any bank loans, car loans, or other loans
- Latest annual mortgage statements
- If property rental income is part of your total income, a copy of rental agreement and proof of rental income.
- Last 3 consecutive months bank statement (for each applicant if not joint)
- Evidence of where your deposit will be funded from
- Filled-in bilingual insurance form
- Marriage/ divorce certificate (if applicable)
For Salaried Applicants (for each applicant)
- Last three consecutive months salary slips
- Last P60
